At our Nirbhay Foundation, we encountered a heart-wrenching case of a small baby pig who had been severely injured and was in dire need of help. This piglet had a maggot-infested wound on his leg and was desperately fleeing from aggressive street dogs outside our Bharatnagar clinic. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, our team swiftly intervened and brought him in for immediate care.
Upon assessment, it was clear that his leg was beyond repair and would require amputation. We proceeded with the necessary surgery, which was executed successfully. The road to recovery was gradual and demanding, but the piglet showed remarkable resilience. With proper medical care and rehabilitation, he gradually regained his strength.
It has now been over a year since his rescue, and the piglet, who has since grown into a robust and healthy adult pig, continues to thrive. Given his previous injuries and the challenges of adapting to the outside world, we have made the decision to keep him within our foundation. He is now safe and well-cared for, surrounded by a supportive environment where he can live a fulfilling life.
This story is a testament to the dedication and compassion of our team, and it underscores the impact of providing timely and effective care to animals in need. We are grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in this piglet’s life and are committed to continuing our efforts to help more animals in distress.
